Sony a300 free! What have I got?
Discussion
Basically I've been given (in stead of cash for some work I did on a mates model railway)an Alpha300.Last SLR I had was a Nikon EM!So no manual and no charger but it has an 18-70 Minolta( second 50mm coming soon)) lens and a 4gb memory card.Understand chargers are easy to get and the manual is on a PDF file,I did about 4hours work and about £40 in materials.I'm interested in model railway photograph.Amazon list a couple of hints and tips type books for this camera which I might get but any suggestions for a novice .

If you want a decent depth of field at close quarters you'll need a small aperture which will slow your shutter speed, see...
