Canon SX220 - upgrade?

I've currently got a Canon SX220, which I'll probably be giving to a friend, so I'm looking for a new compact.
Budget is around £200.
What compacts in this price range would be a significant improvement over the SX220?
Image quality from the Canon is pretty good, but it's a bit unresponsive. I want something that does things when you press the buttons, not a second or two later.
I like to have manual control for indoor shots, and reasonable close-up performance.
HD video would be nice.
