Lost all my daughters birthday photos!

Smart media card. Don’t know what’s happened but I cannot see anything on it. I downloaded some file recovery software but this can’t see anything either.

Any suggestions before I tell the wife!

I realise you say you've tried an application - but I'd give another a try as they're not created equal.

I've used this and it worked a treat. It's pretty slow but it's totally free!

When you say you don't know whats happened - what I did was to take the card out whilst the camera was still on (not doing anything to the card or owt, just on)... won't do that again! Maybe that's what you did? Even if the manual says this is fine - I'd still not trust it and make sure the camera is off first though.

Have you tried this one? I've not used it myself, but it got a good review in a recent photography mag, so worth a shot.

I can email you a programme called Digital Image recovery, it's a free programme and it saved my backside on one occaision. It works with a card reader.

Cheers
