After a few days I noticed one speck on the viewfinder when I put my eye up to it.Im not sure what this speck is on though? And now a week or so on there's now another one??Bearing in mind I haven't taken my 300mm lense off to let anything in, I don't know where these little particles are?
I've cleaned the viewfinder, got the camera to clean it's sensor, taken off the lense and cleaned both ends, and blown on the mirror inside with a little puffer thingy, specks of dust are still there, its really distracting! Anyone help? Thanks.

They will be on the only thing you didn't clean, the ground glass screen above the mirror. They won't affect the photo.

I think it seems to be the thing above the mirror, can you clean it gently with a cotton bud? I touched it slightly with a bud and a streak appeared,ie it must be filthy? Then I had a horrifying feeling it might be coated with something and I'd ruined it!:-)

The 'thing above the mirror' is called the ground glass screen banghead

This is glass that has been ground IE it has a frosted finish. If you touch it with anything you run the risk of mashing the offender further in. Try your rocket blower (and always check your posts to make sure you haven't said the same thing three times). But as I said before, it won't affect you photos so you can just live with it.

Triplicate of the post must be down to doing it on my phone? My phone does lots of wonderful things, except get a proper signal to make a call and send texts to the people I want it to!
