Infra-red - Has anyone converted their Canon DSLR?

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone out there has converted their DSLR to infra-red?

I've used a filter but the exposure times are long and I get too much movement.

I think I'm right in saying you can modify the camera body so you can use the camera without a filter so at the normal shutter speeds and exposures.

I need some advice as would like to play with this type of photography some more.

i haven't done infra-red since my film days, and while it was fun it was damned expensive to get processed. I'll have to check this out for my Nikon D3.

I have an old Canon G2 I was thinking of converting to infrared but haven't found the time to source the glass to replace the AA filter. The camera is worth so little it doesn't really matter if I screw it up.
