Slides/negatives to digital

Basically I have got a load of slides and negatives that I want to put on the computer. I have about £50 to spend on a device that will produce decent results and can be operated by a numpty.

Can I have some suggestions based on personal experiences?

The first slide I looked at was one I took at Brands. Had some bloke in a yellow helmet driving a black and yellow car.....I will post plenty of pics when I get them converted.

I bought my father one of these, seems to do the trick, don't think it will work on mac though

I bought one of these http://www.amazon.de/Reflecta-65630-DigiDia-5000-D... secondhand on Ebay.

Not cheap but it has now done 12,541 slides. I've just lent it to some friends, and when they and some other friends are finished, I'll sell it again on Ebay.

Great bit of kit. Takes about 2-3 mins. per slide in full res. Tif format needs about 30-40MB disk space.
