Cross brand lens + Remote Shutter

Hello all,

Just wondered if you could help me on the following questions;
1. Im after a 55-200/300mm lens (pendant on cost), now ive got a Samsung NX1000 (which im happy with) and my step dad has a Canon with the image stabiliser lens (not sure which model), now my question is, would it be better to stick with Samsungs own range or, as i wont be using it all the time, get a lens mount for the canon to samsung fit and sweet talk SD into going halfs on a bigger lens?

It doesnt have to be a canon converter but as SD has one, just thinking over practicality reasons.

2. Remote Shutters - is it worth getting the singing and dancing remote that allows you to do loads of random things, or would a simple one function remote be enough for me?
