Hello Guys.

I bought srider's 1D a week ago, but my lens (a 28-135 IS) only arrived today. Nobody should be subject to the frustration of having a 1D body but no lens (especially when your mate orders the same lens the day after and it arrives 3 days before!)

Ive only taken about 5 photos (of my housemate in the garden) because it was getting dark by the time it arrived.

Heres the result.

First time ive used a proper slr, so a bit different to what im used to.

Key difference between the sony 717 and the 1d:

Speed (8fps is a little more rapid than 1)
Weight (The sony now feels like a toy)
Autofocus (The speed of the af on this thing is amazing)
Price (the 1d was a little more expensive than the 300 quid i paid for the sony)
Colour accuracy and saturation (wow)

Ill post some more interesting photos when ive had a chance to have a play, and I guess id better give an evo style end of term report on the sony!

Matt

Nice even lighting on the face - cunningly set up or just lucky ambient?

if you are shooting that sort of camera... try the pro lenses, 24-70 2.8L and the 75-200 2.8L .. trust me you will be gobsmacked with the results
