Master your DSLR camera app

Is this any good and has anyone used if before? I'm a complete novice so thought this might be a good tutorial in how to get to grips with it?

I don't think there can be any substitute for just trying stuff. I can see why people didn't take this approach in the days of film, but not in the digital era.
