It seems all of the rumors of the 70d are correct. Can only find 1 pre-order price at £1079 (body only)

Those specs read like the expected 7D Mk2. It looks very very good indeed, so does this mean the 7D Mk2 will be full frame?

Hope the 70d is as good as the 60d, my 7d rarely gets used unless I'm on a job where I need 3 bodies, normally use 60D and full frame 6d which is also awesome.
Well done Canon when I first got the 60d I hated it, having always used the 30, 40 & 50d's - now however I hate the 7d coz it's simply too big for my small mitts

Or the size of battery that allows around 2000 + frames per charge and the potential for some weather resistance that is remarkable should you need it.

There's more of course, but primarily that have great handling and superb balance used with larger lenses that the smaller units just can't quite offer.

The optional battery grip with batteries fitted to the 60D should offer 2000+ shots.

Well I've just been reading up on the technology behind the AF system.

I have to say that this looks a major step forward. Be interesting to see how good this is in real world situations.

I'm very interested to see what effect the "dual-pixel" technology has on high-ISO performance. Taking the average of two should have the potential to drastically reduce the noise levels, shouldn't it?

Yep, quite likely. But then you have the size and weight of a 1 series (more or less) without other benefits and with more potential weaknesses in weather protection.

But these things are only part of the story. There is much more to a 1 series than the bare specification comparison can provide. Whether that is important for individual needs is another matter. It may depend on what you shoot, how often and when.

The spec looks good. I didn't bother changing from a 50D to a 60D but was planning to switch to the 7D2 whenever it is released. However, I may go for this instead once the price has settled.

Errr

Dual processors
Better AF
Better build quality
Integrated portrait grip
Weathersealing
Dual card slots
Higher frame rate
Better balance with big lenses.
High ISO capability

Not to mention the full frame sensor

Other than that..........

I loved my 1 series (I had 3 in a row) but don't miss the weight compared to my 5D3, not a big issue if shooting static, or for short periods, but an issue if carrying the gear all day, and especially if working with two bodies.

In this case no. In fact its had a detrimental effect causing Canon to increase the sensor size.
