Dust in the Viewfinder

I've plagued by dust in the viewfinder on my 6D - not a big deal but an irritation. Took it to the local camera shop - they had two goes (and about £40 off me) and it still wasn't perfect.

Did a bit of Googling tonight and the solution is simple enough it seems - take the hoover to it!

A gentle bit of sucking to the front of the body (oh do be quiet at the back!) and the dust is completely gone

Had you set it to 'blow' by mistake that would have been worth filming...

So you just put it on the floor and hoovered it? Interesting technique

Ah yes, he can no longer see the dust in the viewfinder because the mirror is now in the dustbag

Just the dust came out (I think!) - amazed that such a prosaic solution could be so effective

Yes, if you drill a 1/4" hole through the middle 'n' of 'Canon' you can look straight through...

I've always found wiping it off with my finger does the job......

Hah - the dust was on the inside of the viewfinder as you well know!
