I found the 80-200L in a drawer offshore (I work in the inspection dept) along with a Canon Eos-1 and some other stuff.
Asked the right people, got the right permissions and took it home.
All works, the camera is nice but surprisingly expensive to run, and the 80-200 is a lovely heavy thing.
On the 2nd outing the AF switch broke off, looks like 20 year old plastic has crumbled. So I've stuck it in auto and left it there.
Is there anywhere that can fix this? It's a lovely thing and I'd like to use it for the days that the 70-200L f4 feels a bit light.

That lens is the same vintage as my 28-80L. I managed to damage mine during a slight ball-head mishap!
The damage was superficial but I thought I would see if I could get it repaired, no luck. It's not the inability of the repairers to fix them, it's the lack of parts. Maybe you could find an ebay bargain and see if someone could combine the two to make one good lens.
