Autofocus speeds

Is there any reference data on t'web re the autofocus speeds on Nikon lenses?

So on a given camera a 50mm D might take 50ms and a 50mm G might take 40ms or something similar

Can't help... but the 70 - 300 takes Tuesday.

I was doing street photography yesterday to pass time on a enforced shopping trip. 50mm f1.8D on a D300s. Took forever to lock on and ended up shooting a sequence. Trying to work out whether the G lens is significantly faster.
