I signed up for this a few weeks back ( http://motion-images.tumblr.com/ , thanks for asking smile) and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on photography blogs to follow?

Overall I quite like tumblr as a blogging platform - easy to signup, post entries and style. The whole 're-blog' thing feels a bit weird though? Maybe I'll get used to it smile

Cheers all!

I ended with not 1 but 2 tumblr blogs....the 'main' one;
Motion Captured blog

...and then a more tumblr-esque image-feed;
Motion Captured Superleggera

I think it's a nice way to present your work, but it's bloody addictive! I suppose once I've 'caught up' it will be less of a drain on my time...hehe

Following now smile

Like how your blog looks btw - the 'set of images & title' way you post on PH really works on a simple blog layout imo.

Thanks, I spent a long time trying to find a theme and layout I liked, and deciding how to present it. This is because I wanted to give some background (with a few words) to the events to really tell the story, and also because I think my photographs are stronger as a set than as standalone images. To make a music based analogy, I'm like a band that doesn't have any hit singles but still produces decent albums hehe

Then I decided to do the other blog just to get stuff out there (without the limitations of a specific format) and hopefully bring some traffic to the main one.

I know what you mean about photos in sets helping to tell a story, quite often find that shots in diptychs or triptychs somehow becomes more than a sum of its parts. Can feel like cheating somehow but I think that choosing that set is a skill in itself smile

Decided I quite like tumblr though, feels sort of like a larger format twitter. No one minds a 500 word post in the middle of a feed of single images, news articles, etc.

Even starting to get some small amounts of traffic from tumblr.com now too, think those hash-tags are the main reason. Not seeing many people stuffing their posts with them though, so perhaps it's more nuanced? We'll see smile
