Not sure if were allowed to do these kinds of threads but happy to have it deleted if not.

I've not been out the game for sometime now, all my kit just sits in the bag not getting used as I CBA'ed to lug it around any more. I've been debating with myself to just sell it off for a few weeks and get a Canon G15 for camera work and free up some much needed cash for my Austin mini van restoration that's nearing completion.

If I list on say ebay what am I likely to get for this lot, I value the kit to be around these figures.

Canon 40d body with BG-E2N Battery grip + 6 batteries (£200)
Canon 70-200mm F4 non IS (£400)
Sigma 24-70mm f2.8 DG (£200)
Tokina 12-24mm f4 (£275)
2 Canon 430ez flashes (Got to be worth £20 each)

Just not really sure what to put as start bids as I don't want it walking out the door for nothing.

Or am I thinking mad thoughts and should I just keep hold of it.

Cheers,

P-S

£50 for the flashes. Deal?

You're best bet is check ebay completed listing prices.

Yeah I've been watching a few bodies and lens on ebay but the trouble with that is the prices can be all over the place.

Take nice photos of each, list them separately starting at the least you'd accept for each, and see what happens.

Ffordes a mint 70-200 for £369, you may be a bit high with that one.

Hmmmm... perhaps mine is boxed with cap, hood, bag and even down to the plastic wrapping it came in though.

I saw one on ebay the other day go for just over £500 used which was mad as that's bordering on the retail price.

Chicken dinner for who ever sold that one.

Hopefully you'll do ok then, but the highest I have seen them recently is £400 from a dealer, and that will come with a warranty.

Just don't want you to price yourself out of the market!

I've just had a quick look at completed listings and most of the 70-200 f4's are selling between £300 and £380 with a few going silly. I'll save us both the ebay hassle and you some of the fees and offer to transfer £310 + agreed postage to your account (bank transfer or cheque your choice). I'm assuming it's in good working order.... smile
