Hi.

Got a couple of Canon lenses that I'm trying to shift, an 18-55 II kit lens and 70-300 USM, but trying to avoid using ebay.

Anyone know the best place to sell them?

TP seems to work well.

I've not used them (yet!) but camera jungle have given me my best offers so far.....anyone on here tried them? Failing that I've found MPB and Ffordes to be good.

If selling privately, either TP, ebay or AV forums are likely your best bets. TP requires you to be an active member for a while before you can buy/sell anything though. If you want zero hassle and don't mind taking a hit on the sale price, MPB are pretty fair.

TP or MPB as already stated.

I turned down an offer on a lens from MPB a few weeks ago but when it came to selling on eBay I ended up making exactly the same as MPB had offered. So it's worth doing some research as you may be surprised by your best option.

I'm looking for a kit lens as it happens. Is the ad on TP up yet? Feel free to post details on here.

Why are you trying to avoid eBay? I've bought and sold several lenses on there, and they've all gone at the first time of asking for very good prices with no problems. Personally, I wouldn't bother looking for anywhere else.

It's taken from a 600D less than 12 months old, mark 2 version of the lens, recently replaced by a 15-85mm. Looking for £50 including special delivery postage.

I just thought I'd use Ebay as a last resort, sell plenty of stuff on there but just thought it would be easy to be scammed if someone swaps it with a scratched version of their own or a smashed one then raises a dispute and i'm goosed!

Well it cost me £340 last year and includes a genuine Canon lens hood that cost £35.

Interesting, I've got an EF 24-105 1:4 L IS USM and a EF-S 10-22 USM that I never use. both boxed and almost mint. wonder what they're worth?

24-105 average £430-£480

Your 10-22 average £350-420

Condition is paramount and the better the higher the price , but they are only worth what someone will pay and the above prices are those currently reached on TP forum

I'm after a 24-105 at the mo' but looking at the lower end of the price scale to fit my budget

I'll dig them out and look them over carefully, I've hardly used them so I'm sure they are almost like new. Cheers for the prices.

TP is Talk Photography. Reasonable forums, excellent classifieds. I've bought and sold loads of stuff on there. You have to be a member for a certain length of time with a minimum number of posts before you can access the classifieds.
