canon remote cable query

I have a canon EOS500,the correct remote cable should be RS60E3,I already have a canon TC80N3 that has a different fitting...............Does anyone of an adapter or similar to allow the TC80N3 cable relaease to fot my EOS500?

To the best of my knowledge there isn't an adaptor available, but here are instructions to make your own conversion, if you happen to be handy like that

excellent heads up Mark,although i think that me hacking away at my remote will only end badly.
I now foresee me walking into the camera shop saying..........
"have you got a camera that'll fit this shutter release"

I've at least 2 or 3 of these I don't use (6D has a different fitting!) - send me an SAE and a beer token or two and you can have one if you like
