If you had to get a new phone (which I do) which Android phone has the best camera for picture quality & least amount of shutter lag? My dead Samsung Galaxy S2 didn't really take good photos, but the HD video was passable to my eyes.

Not prepared to buy into iPhone or Windoze phone, Apps already bought and paid for making the difference.

Sounds pretty definitive - are there any others to consider?

Samsung S4 Zoom? LG G2 looks quite handy too. I'm due a new phone and the camera is one of my most used features so I'm interested in replies too, it's a shame the majority of the latest top end smartphones are massive.

The reason you aren't getting many responses is because you aren't asking the right question. Is the camera really the only thing you care about or do size, price, functionality as a phone, etc all have a part to play too? Also, what is best? Do you want to instagram your dinner, photograph your friends in dark nightclubs or take high resolution landscapes on holiday? What is best for one is not for another.

As far as I am aware, none of the top end smart phones have bad cameras. Personally I'd read a few reviews and then go to the shop and see which one I preferred in person. Or just buy a camera.

That's an excellent site.

In answer to just getting a camera, I do have a Canon 450d but it is too bulky to have with me all the time. Having a phone that takes passable photos, or better is a bonus, that and excellent battery life, if it has similar performance to my S2 & I'll be happy.
