Another what compact camera question...

I just saw the other thread about compact camera but I think my budget is a little less [as it's being bought as a xmas present from my OH parents to us]. I'm looking for a decent camera for under £150, to be used for holiday snaps, nights out etc, so just the fun stuff [the plan is to buy a DSLR in the future but we're just about to buy a house so no luxuries at the mo].

Can we get something that'll produce a nice pic for under 150 or do I need to up the budget?

Yep, that'll be doable. Is this a camera you've got Mr Will?

Yep. I had one of it's predecessors (the S95) and upgraded to the S110 recently. Have been very happy with both.

The only reason that it's so cheap is that latest version (the S120) has just been launched, so they are selling off the remaining S110 stock. It's RRP at launch last year was £430! (although for that money a Sony RX100 would be a better buy).

I also have an S95... great little camera. For £165 that S110 is a steal.

I've just bought the S120 from digitalrev, it is a superb camera, I was going to get the S110 but held off until the 120 was released.
