Where to buy?

I am in process of buying a new camera - but where to go? Do you search on-line for best offer, risk a grey import, or chance your arm on e-bay? Are there any particularly good outlets - not only on the "deal" but on the extras and after care? Is it worth a visit to Tottenham Court Road? Getting slightly confused and no-one yet has made a tempting offer. Anyone any ideas? Thanks

Grey import has advantages and disadvantages, so it's really up to you. There are very reputable online retailers, so personally I tend to stick to them. You obviously need to be careful with ebay but there are also reputable sellers there too.

Many of us here use http://www.wexphotographic.com/ - They've been going for ages and deliver fast and at a decent price.

They also recently gave me the best trade in figure (by £200!) On a now redundant body.

If import is ok, try HDEW. Big savings and they've been around for 20 odd years.

Or if you prefer buying from a store I'd pay a visit to http://www.calumetphoto.co.uk/ as they have a couple of locations in London.


I've generally preferred buying from a store as I value them being there, plus you can haggle with them for a decent deal
