What are they? Do you do anything to improve and how's that coming along?

My strengths:
- I'm good at catching the moment and showing the emotion, personality etc. That's why I enjoy people and dog photography most.
- I'm good at composition

My weaknesses:
- I'm not imaginative and I cannont "create moments" out of nothing. Very often I look at other people's photos and think " Why didn't I think of that?!". I guess that's just not my thing and a while ago I decided to concentrate on becoming even better at something that is more natural to me
- my photoshop skills could be much better. I'm "pretty ok" at it but every time I see a pro at work I think how much easier and quicker it is for them to do it

My strengths:

Composition
Vision

My weaknesses:

I have to stop myself wanging the contrast and saturation sliders all the way up
I have to try and slow down, I tend to rush up to a shoot and nail it before driving to the next spot. Today was a good example, 140 highland miles, and one shot in the bag

Good idea for a thread.

Strengths: I always have the ideas for a shoot and see the shot in my head before I even pick up my camera, whether it's portrait, landscape or macro.

Weaknesses: I don't put enough effort in to making some of these ideas happen. I am trying to change that this year.

strengths - Maybe i can spot the camera being a spaz and compensate, i occasionally take a photo were people go "Ohhh"

weaknesses - same as OP, some people post on FB shots with their iphone that look great, they can 'see' the photo. I can't seem to do this. My stuff seems to be technically OK but there are people out there that can make an interesting shot out of nothing. I envy them !

I went to see some local flooding at the weekend and just saw brown water, a friend of a friend went and took a really cool silouette when the sun was going down.

Strengths – Patience – Always waiting for the “better” shot

Weakness – Taking far too many shots of the same thing “to be sure”. The curse of the digital age !

Strengths: I arrange my life to live in the right places. I get up very early when the light is best. Spend silly amounts on kit.

Weaknesses: Everything else. (plus, I spend silly amounts on kit).

Strength: I can see in my head exactly what I want.

Weakness: Using what I have to get it. (Camera and post processing)... And a lack of experience.

Strength: Luck - in having people pay me to shoot interesting stuff (back in the days of film).
Weakness: Hardly having a clue about post processing (in my digital retirement).

Strengths: Good with people interaction for portraits (weddings) etc. Strong 'real world' knowledge of getting best out of the camera in the field.
Weaknesses: Not enough preparation for most shots to make then 'wow'. 99% of stuff is just snapshots.

But that's pretty easy to improve on? What's stopping you?

Strengths? Umm, that'll be a short list.

Weaknesses? Crumbs, where to start ....

Let's just say that I enjoy taking photographs, but the results very often leave me wanting to gouge my own eyes out in shame.

I have many Weaknesses and a few strenghts, but what matters is do I like the shot?

Most of the time, the others I just put down to being too harsh on myself that I dont have the best camera or know how to use photoshop.
