Shutter count question
Discussion
Was just checking my shutter count out of interest (slash boredom) and its apparently reading 5784.
But I'm quite sure I've taken far more than that - I've had it 5 or 6 years, bought it second hand and just off the top of my head I can think of multiple motorsport events each year that I shoot around 1000 in a day.
So I'm wondering, does the D80 counter go 'around the clock' so to speak and start again from zero after a certain point?

All yours Mark?Weirdly the chap I got it from had used it for top flight football photography, an odd choice IMO.
Found a thread on a photog forum where a few people reckon some of the Nikons (including the D80) reset the counter whenever an SD card is reformatted or a different card used, that could explain it.
Another guy reckoned his D70 went back to zero after 65,535, 16 bit counter?
Either way if I sell it once I upgrade I'll have to be honest and tell people I don't believe the shutter count!
