Datsun firewalled

I know I've done this before but I was at a fire event on Saturday where we were waving nd filters over the lens while the fire was on then removing them for the final flash. It seemed to sort out most of the issues I'd had in the past so thought I'd try again with the car.

Awesome!

One thing though, I think it would look EVEN better if there would be fire reflection in the front of the car just like on the sides. It would make it a bit brighter too

That is a very good point, I might be able to sort that (he said trying to work out how to do it in photoshop!).

Firewalls aren't my department but I thought the same - and also the light on the front of the car is blue, whereas if it was really surrounded by fire it would be orange like the rest. The numberplate which is actually white is more like cyan in the photo.

If you shot RAW then it should be a quick fix.

IMO I'd just remove/clone out the numberplate completely. They ruin every car photo

My photoshop skills are not up to removing it! I'll have a look at the colours later though.

Maybe though my point in mentioning it was that it gives a handy reference for 'white' should be.

For the number plate just make a custom gradient using a white sampled from each end of the number plate.
Then select the rectangle of the number plate, maybe feather the edge a few pixels and drag the gradient from end to end a few times until it looks right. Tweak with level or brightness if you need to.
Hope that helps with your number plate removal.
