My old manual SLRs had small rings that held swivelling straps via snap hooks. Brilliant. They don't twist up, they don't stick up in your face when talking a picture and you can just unclip them if you don't need them, eg on a tripod.
And yet the D70 has rotten little fasteners that are even mounted in the wrong position for the CG. The strap takes hours to take off and replace.

Does anyone know an attachment that I can use to adapt these hateful little bracket things into something more ergonomic and practical?

Thanks!

I know. They must have got the idea from the Canon 300D, 10D and 20D

And yet an old manual SLR from 1981 could do it properly - and have a threaded shutter release! I had to buy the D70 IR remote (but it works well)

I knew you'd bite!

I agree though, this has been a gripe of mine for ages. I tried to use the remote release from the EOS1n (originaly from a T90) and no way, allthough it does have a PC flash terminal.
