Moderators, should this be in the computers section? Last time I posted something slightly critical of Flickr in there I think I was told something along the lines of 'f
k off or get used to it'.
Lord almighty, I feel my temperature rising. Because I'm f
king furious. So f
king furious I can't even be bothered to concern myself with structuring sentences properly. I've just been on Flickr.

Not content with going from rather nice to ugly as sin last may, and receiving strong yet well-deserved criticism, Flickr has apparently decided to force us to look at something less attractive than a baboon's arse.
It is, in some respects, also less useful than a baboon's arse. Imagine that I am a knuckle-dragging Tyler from Scumbag Towers who has never quite been able to grasp how paragraphs work and imagine what this text would be like if paragraphs were not separated. That is what it is like on Flickr if I wish to write a description or add a comment. If I am to press return in the aforementioned description and comment boxes, my text does not move down a line; instead my description/comment is published. At least if I were to attempt to write on a baboon's arse I would be able to separate paragraphs.
Having written the above paragraph a while ago before really coming to terms with the true horror of the new Flickr, I realise that the swear count is a bit pathetic, so I shall amend that: f

Anyhow, I feel that I am beginning to digress. The real message behind that is that I am quite upset and disappointed with Flickr for making a bloody impressive cock-up of what was once a nice, functional, attractive and enjoyable website. Words cannot express how I yearn for the old Flickr and I would do an awful lot to have it back, up to and including being forced to sit through 12 hours of Casualty alongside a breathlessly giggling and naked Jo Brand and a vicious and irritable vole while Piers Morgan pelts me with snack-sized breadsticks and his own s
t and a mentally-traumatised Adrian Chiles tries tirelessly to convince me that he does not bear the slightest resemblance to Mr. Potato Head.
I would say "that's better", but it's not. I'm still f
king livid.

Do what I have and speak with your money; I've just cancelled my pro subscription after four years. f

Isn't this all due to facebook or some other s

ts.Question is who will make a new photo sharing website with all the old charm of flickr? I would if I could...About 2 lines in to the OP and realised it was just someone trying to hard, so lost interest. I can't be bothered wading through the artificial 'just for PH' spleen to get to whatever point is being made.
That being said, I've just had Flickr charge me for another year of Pro - something I've no desire to have since they changed what Pro got you, so if anyone else was planning (like me) to let the Pro subscription expire it's worth checking if it's going to auto-renew. I presume I ticked something somewhere to agree to this last year although I only realised this when I got an email saying I'd been charged for it.

Thanks for the tip, I've decided to end my subscription as an occasional look at the stats really doesn't justify 20 quid a year or whatever it is. It seems all subscriptions are set to automatically renew unless you opt out so I've just done that although mine doesn't renew until June.

Would actually help if you said what you didn't like about the design.
I assume no other websites meet your standards otherwise you would be using them.
Seeing as you asked, I have identified these problems:I assume no other websites meet your standards otherwise you would be using them.
- Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I haven't seen anyone comment positively on the new aesthetics
- Paragraphs are impossible for comments and there is a very long-winded way to make them just about possible for descriptions
- When you are looking at photos, the toolbar and search function bugger off. This means you can only access whosever photostream you are observing or groups in which that photo appears; you cannot go to the homepage or your photostream or the groups page or the help forum or anywhere else.
- The new Flickr has been available in a more-or-less identical beta version for several months now. This was optional but very few people used it. Now they have forced us to use a layout that they knew would be unpopular.
- The ask us for feedback, everyone wants to return to the old layout, everyone is ignored.
- I spent good money on Flickr for a couple of years which I wouldn't have bothered doing if I'd known it Yahoo were going to bugger it up.
After the first f
k-up in May I joined Ipernity, which was much like the old Flickr and far superior, but there were several problems:- I have never relished the thought of transferring 6,000 photos.
- I was and still am not in any position to start paying again, hence I cannot upload more than 200 photos.
- All my contacts who joined Ipernity gradually buggered off back to Flickr.

This morning I experienced the new layout for the first time and It clearly says in the comments box… 'press Enter to post and Shift+Enter for Newline'- Paragraphs are impossible for comments and there is a very long-winded way to make them just about possible for descriptions
