We had amazing weather and a very good race.
And I tried to find some good new spots to shoot from.
Enjoy.

Nice pics.

Where's this one taken please, Thomas? Is it between Pflanzgarten and Schwalbenschwanz? I can't quite figure it out.

Thank you very much.
I had a great time shooting them.
And appreciate it a lot if others enjoy them too. :-)

Thank you.
I am plan on going many times this year both to improve my photography and to share images of a very good racing series that is not well known outside Germany.

It seems there is a qualifying race for the 24h event. Should be good. I will not be able to attend this weekend though.

This is my favourite

It's just a little shame that you can only go down to f/5.6 - a little extra blur on the background would make the pictures all that much more to me. I am extremely jealous you have such a choice of corners to shoot from, and can get so close to the track!

I agree on the problem with the small aperture.

I am limited to f/5.6 because it is shot with a 70-200 f/2.8 and with a 2x teleconverter/extender. I had to add the extender to get a long enough focal length.

One day I hope to be able to shoot with a 400mm f/2.8 or even longer. But that costs serious money.

I walked a lot that day to get to the corners and almost all the shots from the Nordschleife part is shot through a wire fence. I need to figure out a way to get a press pass so I can go on the other side of the fence. :-)

Some nice shots really showing the track well, like this one;

For CC; next time I suggest that you use a slower shutter for the side views - you are freezing the background and even the motion of the wheels, so the cars look like they are parked. Start at 1/200th and work your way down until you find the sweet spot wink
