My digital camera takes pictures of yellow cars (particularly my millenium yellow Vette) and the colour which comes out looks like custard/cream! Nothing like the yellow on the car.

Is this a general problem with some digital cameras, or do I just need to junk it and get another? I've tried modifying the pics on my pc but I just cant adjust the yellow up enough...

without seeing the shot it's hard to attempt to provide a solution.

Under what lighting were the shots taken?

I'm wondering if it might have been a white balance issue?

Is auto white balance letting you down? If the screen is predominantly full of yellow the camera is trying to make it white! How do the other colours around the car look, eg grass etc? Try getting further away so the car is much smaller - does it get more yellow? is it OK with 'normal' shots?

Ditto white balance thingy. Mine has a manual overide from the auto for the various light conditions. Any chance you have a manual and can try them?

Fantastic! You are all absolutely right, and I now have pictures of my yellow Vette looking the colour it really is.

Thanks for the advice all. Another case of RTFM...
