They're ok but use xD-Picture Card's which cost loads more than Compact Flashes.

I've a long running beef with Fuji over their insisting than the diamond pattern CCD layout allows them to say it's double the resolution (at times). I always counter what's the res if you hold the camera at 45 degrees?

Personally I don't like the menu system, but I know other people that do.

aha - didnt realise that. Wanted to use the compact flash card I currently have if I can - not the best time of the year to be splashing out on toys so if I do get a new camera in needs to be cheap.....

does anyone have any recommendations? my current cam is great in that its small and light and 3mps is enough for good quality if not brilliant. On the downside its lacking a flash so only any good in the daytime. Plus I fancy getting some good quality pics as I do have an interest in photography.

Any recommendations - must be less than 200 notes..

Prices have tumbled; I wouldn't let a few £ prevent me from buying a particluar camera if I really liked it. Plus it's a one-off thing.

Then again, the way prices are heading south, you might be able to get a better camera for your money if you hang on until after Christmas...? I've found that if you're undecided, the best thing to do is nothing until you know for sure - eventually it will resolve itself!

cheers simpo - your name cropped up in a chat with dustyC the other day actually mate so will drop you an e-mail....

On the camera front, its not so much being undecided, more that I havent a clue what I am looking at! I love photography and would like to think I am pretty ok at getting decent photos (although often quite dark photos). I bought a cheapo digi camera 18 months or so ago to get my through but with no flash its rather limited...

Now I am just thinking it would be nice to get the best out of some photos with a half decent digi. The Fuji looked like a proper camera but if it does no more than a tiny digital I may as well get one I can carry around in a pocket....

guess it just looked the dogs danglies

yeah, may well do just that. Only reason I stuck my hand up now was I had a novatech brochure through the door with this camera on offer and wondered if it was a good deal.
