As Im about to replace my standard old 17" flatscreen, a thought came to me whilst on the way home tonight.

It would be really great if I could somehow wirelessly, or even wired, use it to randomly display photos form my collection.

I can box it up to look like a nice picture framey type thing, but I have no idea if its possible??

Very possible. Shove a RaspberryPi behind it, and stick a nice frame (making sure not to obstruct airflow)

Im thinking of getting a RPi with XBMC preinstalled. I want to use a wired connection to the router and let XMBC randomise from mulitiple folders within my photo directory.

Anyone knwo of this will work?

Olus, my old monitor is only VGA, and the RPi is HDMI - can I use a convertor lead for this ?
