Panasonic LX7 / Leica V Lux 6

Has anyone got any of these cameras? I am wanting a nice all-round camera for travelling around worldwide.

Dare I mention the Sony RX100? Bigger sensor, more compact. I get really excellent results with mine.

I have a few Leicas, although not the V-Lux 6. My thoughts as a non-professional, is that the pocket Leicas are distinctly average when compared to the competition. The big Leica's on the other hand (M9's etc) are stunning.

I would also recommend the Sony RX100 Mk1 or Mk2. It's the best out there at the moment.

The Leica is essentially the LX7 on the inside.

Nice if you want to pay for the quality build and retro styling of the leica and some different menus but they are essentially the same camera, and the Lumix isn't exactly poorly built or horrible to use.

Great all round cameras.

Yes, the RX100 is good but it's also a lot more expensive and not all it's made out to be with poorly thought out menus and poor ergonomics compared to the lumix.

I'd agree withe menus, it's a bit pants.There are some other 'issues'. Image quality is stunning though.
