Just reading a thread about someone's photos being too dark and then others suggesting that the monitor just needs calibration.

How is this done? I don't think I have a problem but would be good to check

You can get a calibrator from a few quid, well worth it, particularly if you want to print your work.

Spyder and Colormunki are popular brands, I use Colormunki Photo which also allows you to profile your printer on your chosen paper and inks.

If it's simply a matter of 'prints too dark' then a quick fix is to make your monitor darker.

That means you will make the images brighter to get them looking right on screen, and the result of this will be brighter prints.

Like I said, I don't think I have a problem but obviously would be good to check. Never had anyone say that images are too dark/bright/wrong colour.
