Looking for a Photo Hosting Site...with a difference.
Discussion
Hi Folks,
Has anyone come across a photo hosting site (aka Flickr/500px) that is charity orientated? I took some photos at the weekend and was ask if I knew of a way that the charity might be able to make them available for download with a donation. I only use Flickr at the moment for my personal shots which doesn't appear to have suitable features for this.
The type of thoughts I've would be:-
- Charity Admins to set-up a page/group/site with sub groups for Events.
- Charity Admins could create accounts for photographers to upload image that would be moderated before being displayed.
- The default would be small/thumbnail images.
- Full size images available for a donation to the charity.
- Site to handle the donation straight to the charity.
If anyone has used a site for this type of activities in the past details would be appreciated.
Cheers
Dave

I haven't come across exactly what you're looking for, but you could take a look at Pixieset or Instaproofs. Both of those are online gallery hosting sites for photographers to sell prints and/or downloads. You'd be able to use those to do do most of what you outline above.
I use Pixieset for my client galleries, they look good and work well on tablets and phones as well as PCs.
Instaproofs has massively more flexibility for how you set it up (making it a lot more complicated) and in my opinion the galleries look really dated too. That said, Jonas Peterson uses them, so you're in very good company if you go with Instaproofs.
