Wee bit of spot colour, like the way the drivers face is nice and sharp but the car is blurring around him . . .

. . . been playing with low shutter speeds again . . .

It may look underexposed - difficult to tell with my laptop screen . . .

Cool!

I have to learn which shutter speeds suit panning etc. What did you take that at? and how fast was the car going? I'm guessing 20ish?

there is an image in my head i want to capture at brands hatch. the bottom of that ong hill/dip/valley thing. go past the start line up a bit of straight, round the corner and down into the hill.
I want to be at the bottom looking up with a heat haze at the top and the the cars linning up to get to the top in the shimmer. Same from the top although they need their headlights on for drama.
Guess i will be tackling cars soon though.
nice effect though and a nice picture too.
thanks

Nice one Ferg.
You left a little bit of colour showing through the rear window, and I'd crop a bit top and bottom.

I use between 1/30th and 1/125 for making things look like they are moving . . . but there's no real rule . . . some days my panning technique works for lower speeds, some days not . . .

Car was moving at <30 here . . . I was only about 8 feet away from it . . .

Lovely shot Ferg. I agree about the top & botom crop but that is only nit picking. We would all be proud to have a shot like that in our book.

Isn't the colour showing through the rear window part of the car though? The rear butress? In which case it should be coloured.

Martin.

I just put in Photoshop and enlarged it (a lot) and the green bit is the inside of the removable roof. The tiny triangle of backgroubd is grey.
