Small LCD TV with built in DVD
Discussion
Hey,
I'm looking for one of these for a christmas present. Something like www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/455_218022.html would do the trick rather nicely for the kitchen, as it will play CDs and most likely MP3s from CD too.
Anyone have any experience with any? Who are DM-Tech.. most of these things seem to be made by unknown brands, why can't the market leaders get their act together and make something different/original for a change...

I bought one of these yesterday, all be it without the DVD player!
Seems to be okay, one of the nastiest remote controls I've ever seen but that's what you get with components, no doubt, sourced from China.
Although not a top brand yet, LG do a variation of this unit too, i.e. 17" widescreen with built in DVD (got one of those as well), the finish is far better than on the DMTech, but still not upto Sony standard, but that's why its not twice the price, I couldn't justify another £150 just for the Sony brand when I bought mine.
I think its the old adeage, you get what you pay for, at least in the quality of plastics etc, I suspect the screen and components are all much of a muchness.
