Will a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm fit a d5300

Just a quick query, would anyone be able to confirm if this Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm would fit on a d5300?

Yes, and will produce some cracking photos.

Yep. Pretty much every Nikon lens from the last 40 years will fit any Nikon DSLR or SLR. The only issues will be that some wont autofocus or meter properly. That AF-S lens has built-in focus motor and will be perfect on any Nikon body. (Though cropped on FX bodies like a D3).

Since 1959 in fact, when the F-mount was introduced. But as you say, the electrical connectivity has changed over the years.

If it is a Nikon AF-S lens, it will work perfectly on all Nikon DSLRs.

Older lenses will mount but will have different levels of functionality.
