I was happily clicking away on ebuyer last night, buying a battery grip and 1gb flash card for my 300D, when I found this:

www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=65561

A 53" tripod for under a tenner. It may be total rubbish, but I added one to the order and the review seems to say that it is ok.

I know there are a few new camera bods in here (me being one of them) so I just thought I'd mention it.

heh, a £500 camera on a £7.99 tripod

However you can't really go wrong at that price - not sure if it has a 3-way head though (for portrait format shots). Anyway, it'll keep you going for a bit and if you decide it's a bit shaky you always can trade up later. Simpo says: Bargain.

It can't be any more shakey than my DT hands

I'll let you know how solid it is once it arrives...

I got one from Jessops for £20 for my Dad's F70 last Christmas, served very well, although you do need to put the camera on timer (no remote clicker yet) to ensure it's a steady picture

Digital Photo are giving away a Velbon CX300 tripod when you subscribe. This retails at about £31. Billy Bargain in my eyes
