I have an 18-105mm f3.5 kit lens but was thinking of a wide angle prime lens of f2.8 or less, any recommendations.
I was thinking of using it more for landscape than anything else, or would I be better sticking with the 18-105mm kit lens.

Considering you're shooting landscapes is there a particular reason why you want prime f/2.8 lens?

If you want a wide f/2.8 lens for DX then my first thought would be the Tokina 11-16mm

However I'm not really a landscape shooter so other might be able to advise better.

I've got the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 and it's a very good bit of kit. I find f2.8 handy from time to time and very useful for astro, but if not shooting astro I can't see the need for landscapes - but I'd still recommend it because it's a solid, sharp and consistent lens.

If it needs to be a prime and since you don't define 'reasonably priced' I'd recommend the Zeiss 21mm f2 smile In the even more reasonable category, I was a big fan of the Voigtlander 20mm but it's f3.5 max. Even more reasonable again is the Tokina 17mm 3.5. All well worth reading up on if you're fixed on primes. If you want to go wider still both the Samyang and Nikon 14mm 2.8's are worth a look (the latter being a little pricey). Or if you are happy around 28mm, the Nikon 28mm 1.8g and 2.8 ais lenses are both superb and relatively cheap.

If you want ultra wide I would agree with Cornet above that 'the' wide dx lens to go for is the Tokina 11-16. There are some very wide primes about but depends on how wide you want to go. A few manufacturers make 14mm 2.8's most notably Nikon and Samyang but you may find them a bit restrictive. Personally I've never been a big fan of ultra wides for landscapes though but that's just me.

Thanks guy's, I've been looking at the Tonika and it seems like what I'm looking for, either that or I've seen a Nikon 20mm that looks like contender too.
