I'm looking for a decent quality camera to take on holidays and out and about. So, an SLR or large bridge would be a bit impractical. A photographer friend has been using an X10 for a while and suggested the X30. I like to build quality and the manual zoom on the lens. I had a quick play with the X30 in a shop and did like the feel of it.

I'd be interested to hear experiences if anyone has got one / used one?

Unless you're the kind of person who carries a bag everyday, the X30 and it's predecessors are a little compromised - they are just slightly too big to fit in a pocket.

I'd be looking at a Sony RX100, Canon G7X or Panasonic LX100 instead

I have an X20 as my take everywhere camera. It fits in my shirt pocket naked or fleece pocket in its case. Very happy with the quality of print it produces up to A3/1600ISO.

Personally I wouldn't be happy with anything smaller.
