I deleted a short video that I had taken with my camera, The delete was actioned on the actual camera, is the image lost for good now or can I take it to any special person / company that would be able to get it back from the card ?

It's quite likely recoverable assuming you haven't subsequently used the card and over written it.

I did take more photos after the delete so I guess that means it has been written over

Videos are normally in a different folder to the photos on the card.. so worth a try!
