S7000 "Zoom error"

Any ideas? Mrs just bought in HK and am yet to take a picture. What are my chances of a warranty fix?

I've got an S7000. what exactly are the symptoms.

Thanks guys - screen reads "zoom error" and lens does not come out. Manual refers me to dealer. Don't know if they will be happy to sort a HK supplied camera.

Mrs S has an S3500 that was bought as a present for her in November... It's just started exhibiting exactly the same behaviour.

Did you manage to get any resolution to this problem? Any recommended routes to trying to get it sorted?
