Stop motion Lego build
Discussion
Thought I would ask in here but I warn you my 'gear' is non-existent although my younger Brother might have a decent if a few years old SLR. I will need to ask him!
Does anyone have experience with using either an iPad or a Galaxy S4 Android phone (I think the phone will be better, it certainly takes better pictures) as a camera for doing something with Stop motion? My Son is getting a Lego Technic Cargo Plane and I thought it might be fun to try and do a Stop motion movie of the build but I don't have a 'proper' camera at all. Any tips? Is there an app or program I should or could be using or a program that can take the dozens of snaps I'm going to end up with and stitch them together for me? I can transfer the snaps onto my PC easily enough.
Thanks

Likewise, the S4 will have the better camera.
I use an app called Lapse It Pro on Android (one of many time lapse apps available) which I find pretty straightforward to use and tinker with the settings. As others have said a secure method of holding the phone is essential - it's much easier to use some sort of mount rather than trying to prop the phone on something, messing around trying to keep the angle straight.
Personally I use one of these - it'll accept most phones and will attach to most tripods. I use it either with my Gorillapod or attached to my a spare quick release plate for my main tripod.
