I’m using a (non Canon) battery grip with, up to now, no problems. Took the batteries out to recharge the weekend and replaced, now it’s completely dead.
Everything is OK with a single battery in the normal configuration so all is not lost.
Any suggestions – or is it not worth the bother to try and fix – just replace?. I don’t want to throw away good money though if it’s possibly a Camera fault.
(not yet had chance to check out terminal voltages etc, but cant see anything "mechanically" wrong)

On the protruding end of the battery grip (that feeds into the battery compartment on the camera), there are usually spring loaded contacts, check that all of them actually spring back into their highest position.
I've had issues with a non-OEM grip before where one got sticky after a year of so of use, I actuated 20 or so times and it worked ok for the next few months.
ETA - Also check the contacts for the battery tray that slides in, it's another easy spot to have issues on the cheap aftermarket grips if they get coated up in crap...
