So I got this camera for Christmas and have started to play around with it. So far so good. Took some photos yesterday and accidentally set it to aperture priority shooting and didn't set the aperture. Loaded the photos onto the computer and they are full of black lines especially around the mouth and body edges. Any ideas how to correct this or is it a lost cause?

Black lines doesn't sound like anything to do with aperture. Have you accidentally engaged some arty-farty 'effects' mode? Samples?

Not really sure what I've done - will try and upload a sample to show what the problem is

erm, I think you can relax... that just looks like a picture effect mode!

You have accidentally turned on 'Illustration mode'!

No not a wind up, just Got a camera smarter than I am!
before I settle the invoice, anyone know if the effect can be reversed?

If that's all that's on the card, I suspect not. Perhaps if you look there's a 'normal' version as well?

How to change it is in the link above.

I fear the pictures you have already taken are likely a lost cause unless you were shooting RAW (which I doubt).

I don't think the Sony saves 2 copies of the photo, so I"m afraid the photos you have are all you have with no 'normal' version.

It cannot be revered.

Just turn the setting off and start again smile
