Your favourite picture of 2004
Discussion
With 2004 been my first year with a decent digital camera and the desire to take pictures I have some I'm really pleased with. Inspired by a thread on www.fredmiranda.com I thought it'd be nice to share our favourite images (that we took) from 2004.
I'll start by suggesting we go through Landscapes first and then onto other images (such as cars, people...)
My favourite Landscape:
This was taken near Alston on my Canon A70
I've got rid of some power lines and sharpened the foreground slightly, but the colours have been left alone.

Here's my fave (just about fits the bill of landscape) of the year... Taken from the boat house in Central Park in May. It's been moderately photoshopped.
It was taken way before I realised I was going to end up getting as into photography as I have done - but I'm still pleased with it on the whole.

I like both, although to me Dubbo's shot gives the illusion (I think) of being slightly tilted.
I know what you mean about the tilt - I think it's because the far side of the lake isn't "square" and the angle gives the impression that the horizon is tilted too. Or it could just be that I was balancing on a rock and I had the camera tilted...
I really like the shot of the town nestling in the valley...
Nice shots guys.
Ill link to mine too, otherwise this thread will takes ages to load!!

Not a great photo but carries the best memories of the year:

docevi1 lovely shot. the haze looks fantastic. The colours look great too. I dont know how it might look if the foreground was a touch sharper to enhance the depth of field, but really lovely.
There are some amazing pictures here

Agree completely. How about this for a thought for next years' PH calendar? Each month to be double sided, one side is PH motoring, as per the 2005 most excellent calendar and the other side is PH other images such as landscapes, people etc. Then you can change your pictures twice a month.
I know this would make the calendar more expensive but what's the feeling is this a worthwile idea suggesting to Ted for consideration?

Well I don't want this thread to die! I'm enjoying the photographs too much.
How about favourites from other styles? Portraits? Long Exposures? Spot colour? Bring them all on!
I'll chuck in a spot colour one - my Mrs loves this - I'm sure just because it's the biggest shop in the world!
edited to add
I know it's not proper spot colour because it's got blue in it and not all the red shows through, but I'm too lazy to do it properly - I don't think the composition of the original image warrants the effort!
Probably then I shouldn't have posted it as one of my favourites...
