Taking a load of pics - but how to store them?
Discussion
When I go to Le Mans this year, I am planning to take a stack of pictures and I mean hundreds of the things!!
However, my current camera memory card holds roughly 80-90 pics at most (it's 128MB) so I would either need to store all the pics I take on several memory cards or on my laptop.
The easiest and cheapest option would be to use the laptop, but as I will be living in a canvas covered patch of field for a week, I feel that a laptop may not be very secure and likely to be nicked so I considered buying a stack of memory cards instead.
But how much are large memory cards (and how large can I get, MB wise?)
I would guess that I could take anything up to 500-600 pics at LM and need somewhere to store them.
What is best, laptop or memory cards??

Memory cards, but check your camera's maximum capacity - some can't use the really big cards.
The second thing is that it's generally better to have, say, 4x512Mb cards than 1x2Gb card as cards are known to fail, and it's heartbreaking if you loose 100's of pictures.
The alternative is to get one of these devices that you just plug the card in and it downloads the images and keeps them safe.
www.allcam.biz/products/camera_storage.html are two
www.card-media.co.uk/resellers/digi+magic.htm (although that might be a bit big)
www.card-media.co.uk/resellers/digi+magic+dm180.htm
etc.
