helping out at our village jumble sale yesterday - somebody dropped off a couple of cardboard boxes
of cameras so organisers said to me 'your interested in photography, can you sort this lot out'

was expecting the usual jumble sale fodder of cheapo compacts, but this was a nice surprise...

nice mixed bag of 35mm bodies, including a very nice olympus OM10, all seem in good condition
and after putting batteries in all seem to meter and fire ok.

Also there was a big box of leather lens cases...whats inside...

mixture of zooms in various fittings (most are m42) - again all in nice condition with no
fungus.

Then I open this bad boy...

its a chuffin great 500mm f8 mirror lens - russian made MTO 3M-5A, and unlike a lot of
cheaper modern mirror lenses this gets some great reviews on various forums for its
image quality.

not kidding myself it's going to be classic glass, but with easily available M42 to pentax K
mount converters i am going to have a crack with it on my Pentax K3 - might be good for some
moon shots if nothing else...once sorted I'll put up some images

Rest of the cameras and lenses will be going on ebay as hopefully this will raise more
money for the jumble sale than if the items had just been placed in with all the other bric-a-brac.

I got offered a bunch of cameras & kit free of charge two years back. Bloke had given up taking photos. I wasn't in need of anything, and a mate was/is seriously keen, so I told him to go and have a look.

Turns out he was a pro. The kit which consisted over over 20 lenses, tripods, 4 pro slr bodies and various 'stuff'... sold for over £9k

Doh.

Those bodies are all bayonet fitting so the lenses must have come from something else. Is the zoom telephoto lying down a Vivitar Series 1 70-210?

the cosina is m42 threaded so the lenses could have been used with that, also there is a canon to m42 converter so they may have been used with the adaptor.

the vivitar is a 28-200mm zoom with macro, this has olympus OM mount so presumably went with the OM10 body

Oh right, I thought they were more modern than that.
