Affinity Photo Beta - looks interesting?

I came across this and it looks like it may be an interesting product, very keenly priced when it's released too.
Calling it professional quality product to be released with standalone perpetual license $49 or whatever the UK equivalent price is (£39 I believe?)

Mac only at the moment,has anybody here tried it yet?
I've installed the beta just need time for a good play!

Presumeably, this is the Mac version of Serif's Photoplus.

With Affinity Designer and Publisher being the Mac versions of Drawplus and Pageplus respectively.

Not suggesting that is a bad thing, I've been a satisfied user of Serif PC software for over 20 years!
