I am doing a digital photography course at the moment and I'm looking to get a scanner for transferring negatives.

Anyone used this scanner or any reccomendations?

Corin,

Not sure about the 2480, but I have the D2400U and it does a great job. It's not used that much since I went dSLR.

Thanks Steve, I was looking at converting some of my old SLR negs and it's really cheap to do it now.

..or shall we go for Nikon film reader with digital ICE? No Corin, be sensible!

I recently bought the Canon 9950F to do something similar with my slide stack - scanning a dozen at a time was a big plus for me. It will do 36 negatives too, I think.

So far it looks good but I haven't really exercised the high resolution and ICE features yet.
