Firstly, I'm not really into photography/filming. I use my phone for any pics that I take, I don't even own another camera.

However, I'd been thinking about some sort of action cam type device for a while but never wanted to take the plunge with the cost of a GoPro. Then I came across a deal for one of these with all its mounts and stuff for £200. I thought it was a bit of a deal so bought it. Should be delivered tomorrow.

Anyone got one/ got any experience of one?

This is what I've got coming http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VCC-006-K2NPNG-Veho-MUVI...

I have the muvi hd pro then bought a Sony hdr-as30 and the Sony is far superior for about the same price. The muvi cam hated vibrated to and was grainy as hell in low light.

Watch the under water case on the veho as its leaks a bit and they didn't use stainless metal so parts on the cases rusted.the case rattled.

The good news though The k2 does look improved so possibly a better buy now. I'd be tempted but looking at a newer Sony.

Interesting. Sony didn't even come up on my radar. Just looking at them now.

Which one are you looking at?

I didn't realise the k2 was so expensive, paid £120 for my muvi HD.

I'll go with the HDR as200
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Action-HDR-AS200V-Rem...

I should have got the as100vr when on offer for £199 but snooze you lose I guess.

I'll wait until its more widely available and see if I can get the 200 for £250ish.

Well it was delivered yesterday.

So far really impressed, packaging is good, comes in a case that holds everything nice and secure.
The camera itself feels well made, bulk, strong. All the cases/attachments also appear well put together.

I've only take a couple of stills in the office and a few secs of video but so far I'm pretty happy. Got suction mount, tripod/monopod thingy and external mic on the way hopefully to be delivered before the weekend so I can stick it on the car and get some real testing done.

Be good to see some vids, the Sony went to £255 with liveview remote so bough that today. It will be handy having a second for a different view, I'll use the Sony as the main and the muvi as and when I need/want a second view, I'll also use the muvi for rc to as I wouldn't want the Sony nosediving from 200ft hehe

Sadly I'll need a new PC for editing. My loaned laptop struggles with playback and editing is a nono. Slippery slope these action cams hehe

Here's a test timelapse my brother just did.

Doesn't look great to be honest, think some fiddling needs to be done.

Youtube doesn't do any favours to videos with a lot of static content in them.

Maybe next time video the mowing of the lawn! wink

Haha, I know. The stills that have come out are pretty bloody good actually, just fiddling with frame rates and resolution on the video mode to see what works best.

Does the muvi build time lapse videos inside the cameras i though the Sony is supposed to but I can't work it out, it may be on the more powerful sony camera only.

I've not tired it personally, but yes it appears so. My brother is fiddling with it this week as I haven't had time.
