Hi just bought a Sony HDR-CX405 and find the cable supplied for video out to tv is HDMI . My tv ( Sony bravia) only has the component input jacks( red yellow white) .the instruction booklet with camera states " if tv does not have HDMI jack use the "multi " terminal on camcorder to tv jacks " . Have contacted sony direct and they can't help with a multi to component cable , also checked amazon maplin lewis etc but can't find one . Anyone know if this type connection cable is actually avail ...if not going to take camera back as no use ( unless I buy a new tv ,which was one suggestion I got today!!!) thanks in advance. Ian

Red, white, yellow sounds like composite video, not component.

I haven't seen the sockets in the camera, but all the specs I found say it does composite with an additional lead. I'd expect it to look like a 3.5mm jack one end and some phono plugs the other.

I think it may be one of these that you need

http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/JJC-Audio-Video...

If you Google the camcorder, the spec shows the output as being micro hdmi.

Since had a few replies thought I'd post a few pics to help clarify my poor description. Connection from camera ...multi con...to tv red yellow white plugs required if possible. Thanks Ian

VMC15MR2 cable does it. Plenty on eBay.

Can your TV accept the memory card/stick directly? Will look a million times better.

Hi tv only has red yellow white input jacks...( it's a n 8 year old sony bravia) , happy to look at any kind of conn i.e. Can the sd card be used separately to input to tv. The new camera only has a card storage , unlike my previous camera that had a hard drive & card storage. Thanks. Ian

Got the lead you suggested and works perfectly...thanks again....why Sony can't sell this as an accessory is beyond me.
